Danbo_by_GromboHealthy self esteem means that you like yourself and you value your achievements.  Many people don’t feel good about themselves for any number of reasons.

When you have low self esteem you are critical and judgmental about yourself, downplaying any more positive qualities. You might use negative words to describe yourself, and often have negative and mean ‘self talk’ or thoughts. You tend to blame yourself, even when things are not in your control, and you tend to dismiss any positive comments or compliments. It’s easy to see why low self esteem doesn’t feel good, and why it tends to be associated with a lack of confidence.

As an experienced counsellor and coach I can help you find and recognise the more positive parts of your self. I use strategies and resources that help you to build a more positive image, and help to break unhelpful thoughts, feelings and behaviour that can sabotage your self esteem. It is sometimes difficult to improve your self esteem on your own because you can be trapped by your own thoughts and expectations. Even if you don’t feel very confident that you can change I hope you will decide to get in touch.
