Counselling for Depression

I help you break the hold of negative thoughts and feelings, which can leave you drained of energy and motivation.  You can regain your connection with life, and with the people around you.

Living with depression can be very lonely.  It can be difficult for other people to understand, and you may feel that nothing can change.  Maybe you hide how you feel but are finding this increasing difficult. Most people experience some of the following:

  • Feeling restless and tense
  • Lacking energy and feeling tired
  • Being tearful
  • Feeling irritable and impatient
  • Losing interest
  • Finding it hard to concentrate
  • Thinking all the time
  • Feeling very negative
  • Blaming yourself
  • Feeling numb or empty
  • Loss of confidence
  • Difficulty in sleeping
  • Difficulty in getting up
  • Withdrawing and ‘needing space’
  • Feeling things are pointless
  • Feeling everything is hard work

Lonely-DanboIt is difficult to get yourself out of depression and easy to fall into a spiral where you can become depressed with being depressed. It’s important to break the hold of negative thoughts that can prevent you from taking actions that will help you to feel better. For this reason it is often helpful to use the resources of a counsellor. You may be able to access this through the NHS, or alternatively some people prefer to see an independent counsellor like myself.

I combine person centred counselling with CBT for depression (Cognitive Behaviour Therapy) which means that I help you by getting to the root of the depression.  I understand how depression can take over control of your life, and I help you to take that control back.  I help you to manage your thoughts and feelings so that you are able to regain your energy and connection with life and the people around you.

If you have had enough of feeling depressed and want to take a positive step towards change, you can call me on 07594 704204 to book a session, or send me a message below.
